The past few years have seen widespread use of Laminate Sheets and veneer sheets in interior decoration and laminates have progressed from being resistant and hardy to something ornamental which adds beauty and character to home interiors. A few years ago, Laminate Sheets were essentially an installation for table-tops and today they have more value as a decorative element in commercial builds like office cabins and hotel lobbies. With innovation in designs, textures and colours, laminates have evolved to become the most flexible, versatile and cost-effective solution to interior decoration.
Here are some popular places for using veneer sheets –
1. High Pressure Laminates – HPL is a composite material that is tolerant to dust and scratches, abrasion and pressure. Owning to these qualities, High Pressure Laminate Sheets are one of the most durable and decorative materials that is resistant to fire, water and the erosive action of chemicals. HPL are mostly used for horizontal applications like in counter-tops and furniture. However, HPL aren’t just for kitchens – they can be used in classrooms, in hotels and hospitals, office furniture, retail setups and other such commercial interiors.

1. Door Laminates – Just like High Pressure Laminate sheets, Door Laminates also need to be extra strong and resistant to scratches and physical abrasion. It is also desirable for door veneer sheets to have colour fastness, and be resistant to the bleaching action of sunlight. The door laminates are also resistant to fungus, moulds and termite infestation.

2. Slender Laminates – The slender veneer sheets are used to line the inner walls of cupboards, drawers, wardrobes, bed boxes and such storage furniture. Unlike regular laminate sheets, slender laminates are as thin as 0.8 mm. Despite being thin which may make them look fragile, slender veneer sheets are durable and also come in a gamut of superior designs.

3. Post Forming Laminates – Post forming Laminates are especially constructed to bend under heat and pressure. Post forming laminates are used at the edges of furniture where curving them gives them chic finish. This also prevents sharp edges which get easily damaged and may be risky to keep in a house with kids or pets. Post-forming veneer sheets are strong but flexible at the same time.
